Skymark Group, a British based company has placed an order with Keifel for a new modern KIRION® co-extrusion blown film line, completed with fully automatic multifunctional winder. This state of the art equipment will be installed at the Ilkeston site of the SKYMARK group in the first quarter of 2008. John Turner, company MD was very impressed by the professionalism of KIEFEL’s team during the various stages of the investment project – from the first trials in the laboratory up to the final configuration of the line. For him, the focus of the specification was on the ability of the equipment to produce consistent highest product quality, highest possible output performance and convincing service which could be maintained beyond sale. Furthermore, as innovation is a key aim of Skymark, he was particularly impressed with the features of the KIRION® series from KIEFEL, for example PERFECT CHANGE in a most economical way and many other features. “And that is very important”, John Turner stressed to express, “if one wants to keep a market leadership position, in view of a rapidly changing and competitive packaging market”.
Technical innovation in both co-extrusion and print, coupled with its willingness and ability to accommodate the individual needs of its customers has always been the driving force behind what Skymark stands for and the success it has achieved. Skymark will use the new line primarily to produce premium grade technical three-layer films for lamination, hygiene and medical sector with throughput of 600 kg/h and more. A KIRION® Plus 2 multifunctional surface/center/gap winder with lay-flat width of 2,600 mm and winding roll handling and fully automatic finished roll removal as downstream equipment for this high spec line.
